Spring in the South

When we arrived to Atlanta, spring was in full bloom - such a lovely welcome for us! Since staying with my parents these past weeks, we have spent as much time outdoors as possible. At the peak of the cherry blossoms, we snagged a few family photos:

On day one after arriving to my parents', Carlton had to figure out the lay of the land. Now every time we go out, we make this circuit around the house, usually multiple times. It starts with the terrace off the back door, whose stone steps Carlton quickly learned to navigate by scooting.

Then it's tearing through the backyard....Carlton's delight at having so much land to explore!

Then down the path along the side of the house,

across the side patio,

and very occasionally, a respite on the bench. Actually, I think this only happened once. He's usually too busy to waste time sitting still :)

Then it's up the steep climb to the front yard, where a hand usually helps,

across the driveway to the cherry blossom tree, and back down the path to the backyard to do it all again.

We love this on-the-go little boy!

Moving time

The end of a season is here.....we are finishing our Pacific Northwest adventure this weekend and heading back east, to Atlanta! We still have lots to figure out on that end about our new life, but Mark does have a job, and we'll be staying with family for a little while as we figure it all out. We are so excited! Sunshine, here we come!

In the midst of the craziness of packing up a house for a cross-country move, we've had our share of fun. We captured a few shots of one of Carlton's new discoveries, the now-empty cabinets. Hours of fun.

Packing the kitchen, and Mark and Carlton creating fun.....they are so good at that.
