April fun

The rest of April was filled with getting settled in our new house, being outside as much as possible in the gorgeous weather, and spending time with friends.  A few windows into those weeks...

Mid-week picnicking in our new front yard,

 playing and picnicking with Em and the girls at our neighborhood park down the street,

 visiting our animal friends at the zoo (there really are elephants somewhere in there!),

 and bouncing and sliding at the nearby Inman Park Festival.

Amidst all the newness and adventures, we found Carlton asleep one night here - in the hallway between his bedroom and the living room.  Every parent knows we had to get that one on camera :)

Tennessee vacation

 My sister and I took the kids on a little 4-day adventure over Kristin's spring break.  We stayed in a mountain condo near Gatlinburg, and we had a blast exploring the Great Smoky Mountains.  Our favorite activity was hiking in the national park, and the kids truly loved it.  On one of the hikes, Carlton was literally running up steep trails belting out hymns at the top of his lungs.

 

 One day we took a sky trolley/cable car up the mountain near town and got to check out some local animals at the mini-zoo on top.

 

 A couple of shots from a fun Mexican restaurant we ate at one night,

 and a couple from walking around the main drag in town.

 

Finally, one of the most joyous moments for the kids was running around a gigantic open field near our condo one evening after dinner..... so easily entertained, I love it!

 It was a wonderful getaway, and Kristin earned some major awesome-aunt points! :)
