Pool time

We made the season's first trip to the pool on Memorial Day - Clara's first swim!  She seemed to love the water and took to it quite naturally and fearlessly.  Carlton had to warm up to the water again, being the first time this year, but with some great coaxing from Mark, he made it in.  And, of course, loved it :)

Gotta love this hair.

Long weekend

Over Memorial Day weekend we had a sleepover one night at my parents' house.....grilled out, watched movies, made pancakes.  We all loved it, and the kids found some new fun with my father's yard wagon.  So thankful for wonderful family close by!

Around the house

Just about everything goes in the mouth these days.  Clara already has 8 teeth, but I think is working on some molars.

 I did sneak a few smiles, though :)

Bats, balls and wheels

Our various wheels these days....stroller, tricycle and wagon.

 

 I got Carlton to flash me a real smile for this photo,

 

whereas this one is "funny face," one of his favorite games to play right now.  All of us, including Clara, get to take our turns producing a funny face, to his delight :)

 Carlton has recently started playing a lot with a baseball bat and ball, which is a lot of fun in the back yard.

 And this is one of Clara's favorite toys right now.  Perhaps one day she will discover its usefulness for drawing, not just chewing :)

Nine Months Old

Our baby girl at nine months!  Clara is still our pensive one, but she smiles and laughs all the time these days.  It is such a sweet stage she is in - crawling everywhere, loving to explore, babbling constantly.  And this is officially her first pink tutu :)

 Jim and Ann came through town again, so we all jumped in the photo shoot for a couple of shots.
