Camping

At the end of May, our family took its first camping trip since Carlton was a baby, when we lived in Seattle.  Carlton has been expressing interest for a while, and it was so wonderful to get back into this particular type of adventure, and to spend a full weekend in the open air and nature.  My parents graciously kept Ezra for us for the weekend; as fun as it would have been to have him along, the idea of not having to constantly chase the energetic toddler made the whole camping endeavor a lot more appealing to this pregnant Mama :) Here are the two good helpers assisting with campsite setup.

And the fruits of their labors!  Inside our tent that first sleepy morning (after a less than sleep-filled night :)
The first night we were joined by our good friends the Wests, and the kids had an absolute blast together - swimming in the lake, hiking, campfire time, sharing meals and s'mores.
On the second night, the Wests had to leave, and Kristin and Gigi joined us!  Gigi did great on her first camping experience, and overall the whole weekend was a huge success.
