This past weekend we went camping again - it's so gorgeous this time of year, and there's so much to explore! We found a campground in the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, just about an hour and a half from our home in Seattle. We drove out Saturday morning and then had a great sunny picnic at our campsite.
The campground was lovely, right beside a creek which you could hear babbling all night.
After lunch, we got Carlton strapped into his backpack, and we set off on a hike. We knew it was a 5.5-mile hike that led to a mountain lake, but we didn't realize it was an uphill climb the whole way. Mark was a superstar wearing that pack with our little boy. Carlton loved the ascent through the trees - some giant trees!
The view at the top was well worth it, as we emerged from the forest to find the sparkling lake nestled among mountain peaks that still had snows clinging to them.

OH dear, Katie- so glad for the great day you had, so glad you weren't too too far from home! What a classic memory! Glad the run went so well, too- we missed you last weekend so much! Can't wait for Christmas!
I love seeing these pictures from ya'lls adventure! That sweet boy is growing up so fast! =)
I'm hoping it works out to meet sweet Carlton over Christmas!
Love you friend!
